"As far as it being green, how can you tell?"

Hi Maura!

Welcome aboard! Anyway, I was thinking the same thing about the image of the minkey. He looks very green - and it did not appear natural to me.

Can you talk a bit about the post processing you did on this image, if any?

James

Hi James!
As far as post processing, I take these (the macaque photos) through fairly thick glass, under poor lighting conditions. Because of this, they come out of the camera soft and I had traditionally used shadow/highlight and curves to bring out details and make the image pop a bit more than it had. Now, I make several adjustment layers (i'm talking specifically with these particular type of photos only, not all my work). I create screen, multiply, curves and channel mixer adjustment layers and adjust the opacity of each layer as necessary. I also might use a hue/adjustment layer. After the work, I flatten the image and if it was taken at that high ISO, I would usually have to run neat image to decrease the grain. That seems to work without degrading the image, although if anyone has suggestions, i'd certainly appreciate them. I seem to have no problem taking images with good or even bright light, but I am kind of struggling with lousy light captures. I do like the softer look they have though, it almost lends a surreal feeling to the image.
