Yet another nice capture.....you gave frame space for the bird to fly into....good exposure that didnt blow out the pure white feathers against the background. Can stand to have a touch of PP to brighten up the rest of the shot you downplayed to get the feathers exposed correctly and remove the slight yellow color cast. (need to be a tad bluer)

Hey Durwood,

Great shot. I like it a lot - you really nailed the composition pretty perfectly. I agree with Roman that it needs to be brightened up a bit and that the colors seem a little sallow...though I think that the fix is not difficult.

Thanks for sharing - well done.

James

Hey Durwood,

Please put up the link to the file. Is it a raw or a jpeg?

Thanks, Durwood. I started playing with the image this mornign. Isolating the background is easy - and I have done a good job kicking that up. The trick has been holding those highlights that you were so delicatedly able to keep in the original. I will post something in the next 24 hours or so.

OK,

Here is my attempt to work the file. I just brightened it a bit and changed the color saturation a tad. I isolated the bird (which was the hardest part) and could have pushed the background colors significantly further, but chose to leave it here. The image still seems a tad bit yellow to me.

How did I do?

James

I think it is a large improvement!

Here is my version which includes some color correction (I also applied a child's portion of cooling filter to the BG) and additional saturation to the BG.
