I was not sure how to put two photos on one post but here is the second. several geese landing - late pm light, overcast conditons, very little PP in Lightroom.

Hey Guideboat,

Thanks for posting these. I looked at them both in PS. Did you do some serious noise reduction on these? You mention very little PP in lightroom, but I am seeing lots of jagged pixels that reminds me of what images I have taken out of Neat Image look like.

Anyway, I love the compositions on both, and I think a little bit of pp will really bring them out. I did this very quickly in PS (less than 5 minutes for both of them). I bet that some of the stronger post processers here can do much much better than I did. Having said that, what do you think?

I like the composition on both of these shots, but had a hard time seeing them on my monitor due to their size. Now that I can see the full shots - I like the first one the best. The sharpness of the geese against the blurred background really enhances the appeal.

James' edit also helps to bring the subject out from the background.

Thanks for posting!

Hey Guys, I tried to look at them myself and they were HUGE! but I guess there is a trick to Downloading. As for the noise, it might be due to having converted the RAW image to JPG, then downsizing the files to loose data. Just guessing. The original of the two geese landing is crystal clear against the background. Again appreciate the kind words, I'll download a few more soon. I have probably 50 equally interesting birds in flight. Here is one I particularily like.
