Last Sunday I took these photos. The first is Jordan up on the dog walk - taken with 50-200mm SWD lens, 1/500 sec,f5.6,50 mm,ISO 400



Here is Gabe who turned 9 months old today Feb 14. - 1/400 sec, f3.0, 60 mm.ISO 200

Sharon,
I love them both but the shot of Jordan is very special. I love the angle and the ball in the mouth tells me everything I need to know about that dog. Really great image.

Isn't it nice to have you own "captive" models so you can not only practice but get nice shots of your own dogs at the same time. I think it has helped both Julie and me get better at candids.

Have been practising my PS (every chance I get!) and thought just a little brightening would make these guys really stand out! Love the terv's! My repro vet breeds and works them. Impressive.






Back in the day, while working at at vet in NH, during campaigning season, we were the vet of choice, in the event there was a secret service dog emergency, so they stopped in and gave us a demo of the dogs! Ok...so they were Malinois, but very impressive!

Hey Sharon,

Beautiful shots. I cann see that you brightened up your first shot (above Gabe). You might want to try Roman Johnston's article on creating HDRs. While the dogs fur is a definite challenge at the ends, it might be helpful.
