I really like this image of your pup. I think it is the best one I have seen so far. Although on the pet page the one where your dog is howling is a hoot.
Now you did say don't hold back so my critique to help this image was to copy and adjust it a bit. I gave it a bit more breathing room on the sides. And I did adjust the image somewhat. What I would suggest is that you get some sort of kicker light on the foreground of your dog when you shoot. When eyes are covered so, it helps to reflect light into the eyes from below. Hope that helps and again nice image. Nice dog too!

thanks peggysue! just out of curiosity, what changes did you make other than the edges and lightening the eyes? it looks great with the changes! i don't always see the subtle differences. thank you! this is my favorite to date!

my pup's name is copper. he is great for me on the table! during the other shoot, i was making noises trying to get his to move his head and he just started howling back at me! i had to get the shot! it was just too cute!

I wish your image would show up without having to open since it would be easier to compare. I added a little to both sides since in your image the hair was so close to the edge. In the original you might have a bit more room. If you framed it you would need to add even more to the sides.
Normally I do not like auto adjust but I use curves or levels, although yours worked okay with auto adjust. Except for the face. I would work a bit more on it since it made them a bit more milky than they should be. Since it is not mine I do not want to do too much to someone else's work. The extra light would have helped. But since this is a nice image you might want to try and "play" around in a program.
