Just thought I'd say "Hi." I've been looking for a forum specifically dedicated to pet photography. Maybe this is the place for me
I've been a nature photographer for a while now and am looking toward pet photography as a way to support the nature side of the house. I also have a day job as a consultant.
Anyway, I have been doing a lot of work for rescue organizations to get my name out there and get practice working with dogs other than my own 4.
This weekend I took 800+ pictures of homeless dogs (way too many) and made a lot of great contacts. I even booked a few events.
My mid term goal is to move into a mobile studio based out of an RV. I looked at a franchise, but decided that it was too restrictive for what I want to do.
I spend a lot of time on a site that advertises "Honest, but gentle critiques" in the nature photography world, so feel free to tell me what you think of any image I post here.
In fact, how's this one for a start?
This was made outdoors, mid day at a local pet event. The dog is a homeless collie mix and the BG is a mulsin that my lovely wife and assistant was holding up for me since I couldn't put up poles at the time.
Hi again
Best,
jim
