Meet Missy, formerly known as Murphy. Her previous handler said she answers to Missy better though, so that's where we'll leave it.

We're "fostering" her at the moment because with my day job up in the air, we don't think we can afford her meds and such until I get back in the swing of things.

She is 12 years old and was dropped off at a kill shelter by her former family after 11.5 years. She was diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure, but that diagnosis turned out to be worse than reality. She does have kidney disease, but the news is that she has years rather than only days to live.

We'll foster her until we can afford to formally adopt and pay for everything or until someone else decides to adopt her; or forever

Once she settles in, I'll get some more pics, but I don't want to introduce any more stress at the moment.

Congratulations on the new family member. Temporary or not - she is lovely and I am sure love will enter the picture. I hope the money will take care of all.
You are so special to help by fostering. Of course I can see the husky in her!

This picture was taken right after she first arrived at HART. She looks much healthier now and has a beautiful face.

The first evening went pretty much as expected. Only one significant sorting out of who is the true boss among the two girls, but no damage done. Then the two of them slept next to each other for most of the night.

The boys don't seem to bother her too much accept when there is food involved, so we're on a tight feeding regimen for now.

She is listed as a Sheltie Mix and we think she looks and acts like she has some American Eskimo in her. But I can see Husky in that face too.

Missy is lovely, I hope you get to keep her. I'm a bit prejudiced, she is like a taller copy of young Rheneas, one of my rescue dogs. He is said to be a Shetland Sheepdog X Pomeranian, but picked up as a stray in the city, so anybody's guess.

Thanks We've been getting her settled in. So far, so good, even with tornadoes and two days with no power. We finally got to kill the generator today.
