Was wondering if I could get some opinions of this shot. What it's got, what it doesn't, ect. Just trying to learn from my mistakes.

hey there,

i very much like the backlit part of this photo.

i less like the disturbing items like the stem of the other plant crossing the photo and the out of focus leaf and flower in the foreground. it kinda takes the attention away from the beauty of the flower.

Thank you for the imput Jorg, it does help. I think sometimes fresh eyes can see things in a different perspective. I tend to be guilty of zeroing in on the subject and overlooking its surroundings.

i can imagine how you got zeroed in on the flower, its really beautiful. i have the same problem sometimes with deciding what to leave in the picture and what not. mostly i end up shooting it from all angles so i am sure i dont end up back at home with regrets

i also really like the blurry background. i forgot to mention that.
