I shot this a couple of years ago while on a trip down to Las Vegas. I made a special trip out to Boulder Dam to shoot both sides of the dam, this is the face from the Nevada Side looking across the Colorado into Arizona.

I would really like a critique on this so I may learn what I need to do to improve in the craft. I appreciate all comments, wether negative or positive. I will post the shot of the Lake Mead Side of the dam tomorrow for critique as I think both should be together and I need to learn on both.

night shots are really tough. you want to use just the natural lighting to get the sense of the night feeling, but you lose so much in the shadow areas. that is what i see in this image.

the best information i have ever come across for scenes like this comes from a guy by the name of ken rockwell. he can say it far better than i can try to repeat it, so i'll let you read it for yourself at the following link. i think the kind of approach that he advocates there would make an image like this zing. i have tried it a few times & have been rather pleased with the end result. i could do with a lot more practice, tho.

Heh! I can tell your wife has good taste, just by your last statement!

Maruru Roa!

Thanks a lot.
