Nice! I like the moody dappled lighting in the background. Wish that one spot had missed the bird though. Still, I like it.

Thanks, Jim, I just wish whatever caused the blur to the breast feathers (fluffing bird or wind gust??) would not have interfered, but ...

Ah, I didn't even notice until you pointed it out. Have you tried a little selective sharpening of just that area to lessen the impact?

I sharpened the feathers that over lap the shoulder of the wing a bit, but they weren't nearly so soft. I'll take a look.

Nice shot Durwood I know how difficult it is to capture a shot like this even with the sun spots. In my area its hard to get close to any kind of Heron, they are shy to say the least. lol

Good shot indeed. The heron almost jumps of the page. The little blurring doesn't get noticed by me.
