While at the Southern, I took this whippet's photo in the parking lot. Those that have been to the Atlanta Expo center know how icky the place is

Real nice. Especially for a place with an "icky" background.

The second image of the pharoah hound bugs me for some reason. I think maybe the brightness of the shirt, but I'm not sure.

It would not be a shirt I'd have chosen. They were ready to get on the road though and no one really wanted to be doing photos

Very nice shot Julie. On that second Pharoah Hound shot it looks much cooler and maybe even desaturated compared to the other 2. Maybe bump the hue more to the warm side and possibly take saturation up a notch or 2. That is what looks to be the difference to me. Not the color of the leaves, grass and the complexion of the woman. Even the Dog looks less red or magenta and more brown.

Julie,
first of all, I'm amazed you got anything in the parking lot of the Expo Center. Icky doesn't do the place justice. It's a dump. Congrats.

I like the last Pharoah Hound shot the best. I have trouble shooting Pharoahs straight on. Most of my good shots have had the head turned more toward 3/4. Must be those ears .

Nice work as always.

Jim, it was awful. A friend and I both drove our motorhomes down starting at the crack of dawn, as the premium list said, as always during this show "First come first served for electric". Two pages later, it said "Reservation only for electric". We were there by 10am and they had no electric. We ran on generator power from Wed-Sun. $4 a gallon gas with none available in the area! eeks!

There was caution tape all around us, down in that far gravel parking lot. Though, the sun was at the perfect height for really nice natural light photos.

The Pharoah hounds are really nice looking Pharoah's. Usually winning the breed. I really didn't know what I was doing with them. So, I took a bunch.

The one that looks desatured, is. Just something to be different. I have a bunch of that pose and did that for the handler. Just to add interest to the bunch

Julie,
the first time I went to those shows at that venue, we had a Dane for an advertising client and I intended to get some ring shots and a few "beauty" shots. The owner asked about shooting outside of the Expo Center and I looked at her aghast! She laughed and asked if I had any other locations that would work. We finally agreed to get the beauty shots at a reststop in Florida on the way back to our respective homes.

We also stayed at a Red Roof Inn close to the Expo Center and I've never been more happy about having a couple of Rottweilers to walk around the motel at night .

The best shots I've seen of Pharoah Hounds have been almost full profile. You may want to try that next time.

I have a few of them from the side, but, I am not thrilled with them. Too bright out. It is too late by 10am to do full sun portraits

I need to fix the tilt in this one
