Today, Linda and I went over to The Loop, a shopping area near the house, to pick out Sundance's Halloween costume. Naturally, SunnyD accompanied us and we soon had selected the perfect outfit to complement his personality: a pink tutu with a matching pink ribbon necklace with butterflies on it.

Now, it takes a real man to wear pink proudly and Sundance really enjoyed his costume. First, he sat with us at Barney's while we enjoyed a coffee and he munched some cookies and got hugs from passing kids.

Then, we went to Petco to select a toy to match his outfit (he got a nice, pink, rubber bone which he carried to the front desk to check out), and then we walked the entire area of stores where folks would come out of shops to take his picture, he got more kid hugs and cars stopped, people laughed and we received a slew of "awww, isn't that cute".

At one point, a burly guy whispered to his wife that Sundance looked like a sissy. I suggested that he tell that to Sundance who, at 21 months, is 140 lbs. He declined. Sundance kissed him anyway.

We go to this shopping area a lot with all of our dogs and when we bring Sundance, his physically imposing presence usually causes folks to give him a wide berth. It was amazing to see how with just a bit of pink, the big Rottweiler was suddenly much less scary to many more people. Plus, they all got to see just how sweet and gentle he really is.

Tonight, he'll hold the candy bowl for the kids that visit. With his costume on. It should be a lot of fun.

How cool is that! No costumes for our gang this year. Tammy and I are considering heading to Bush Gardens for Hallowscream tonight.

Jim Jim Jim, I frequently wear pink dress shirts to work but a tutu? You better look into insurance and make sure it covers counseling! Sundance may have issues when all finished and he has to look back at this event.

I have to admit though, he does look very pretty!

Poor Sundance. Good thing he has proven his manliness in the past. Your gonna give him a complex!

Wait, guys! Sundance is very comfortable with his manliness. He says that a guy who knows who he is can wear anything and still be a guy. Although, I must admit someone did ask how old "she"was!

Julie, in order to get a complex, you'd have to be aware and I'm not sure that Sundance is quite there yet . But he is cute and he is willing and he trusts us beyond reason (obviously).

I'll have some pics from tonight's activities. We're thinking that Rowdy might want to be a stand-in although he's been looking somewhat askance at the tutu. Hmmmm. Maybe we can find something more appropriate for the patriarch.

I'll send pics tomorrow. Everyone have a Happy Halloween.

awwwwwwwww, what a sweet baby. I would like to hug him myself. I see 'puppy' in the eyes, he is a happy boy. Your love for him shows in his face.

But I don't doubt he could be a force to be reckoned with in a split second if need be.

Hi guys,
I warned you that I'd send more so here are a few from late yesterday. First, our friends came over with their one-year-old son, Jaiden, who I've been photographing since his birth and he was wearing his favorite "monkey" costume. Sundance wanted him to know that he thought it was wonderful. Here he is licking Jaiden's hand.

Later in the day, we decided that Sundance had done his Ballerino thing so we asked his granddaddy, Rowdy, if he would mind taking over for the evening. Rowdy asked if there would be candy, kids and doggy treats involved and we said "yes". So, he said YES! Here's a pic of Rowdy the Ballerino.

Rowdy with his next-door kid, Jake.

And Jake's sister, Katie.

And with his adoring public, the Scare Queens.

We had fun as our neighbor Tiffany sat with us and we met the kids on the front lawn. The little kids were really sweet and very unafraid of the Rowdallorino. He had a blast and gave out puppy kisses for 4 hours. All in all, it was a lovely Halloween for everyone.
