This is a Missouri Farmhouse. Slightly obscured by nature.

Hey Preston,

Nice image - similar to the one that you published in the Critiques Forum. Curiously, what type of birds are they?

Thats a lot of snow geese in that shot. How much of a crop, if at all, is it from the in camera image?

James,
If you've ever been in snow geese, you'll immediately recognize this shot for what it is.

Yes, it is similar. In the other photo I was trying to capture some of the colors of sunrise as the snow geese were blasting off over the marshes. This image was shot 4 days later when the geese had increased in numbers, this is estimated at about 270,000 geese. They had left the marsh and were feeding in a cornfield several miles away.

This was intended as sort of a Where's Waldo composition, as I had never seen that many geese so close together.

Not much of a crop, just enough to straighten the horizon. I had plenty of pixels to print at 12x18, and I must say the print is a lot more fun than the low res jpg. 50D / 70-200mmL.
