A few weeks ago, PeggySue asked us to share some of our collages. We've just finished up a book which we're giving as an Xmas present and I wanted to share some of the pages with you.

The child in the book is Serenity who came here for a photo shoot in September. When she first came into the studio, she was shy and really didn't want to pose but when I asked if she would pose with my most experienced model -- Rowdy -- she accepted with joy. Three-and-a-half hours later, we had enough images to fill several books. Serenity is a very photogenic, animated 5-year old. And she can really light up a room.

First up is the first set with Rowdy helping her overcome her shyness.

Next, a bit of magic with Rowdy and a bunny buddy.

High style in some of Rose Ann's clothes.

And a touch of Cleopatra.

And, finally, a thankyou kiss from one model to another.

The book is 20 pages overall but I wanted you to see the style that Linda employed as well as some of the images. When you have so many great images of a subject, sometimes the only way to display them adequately is a collage format and we were fortunate enough to have a lot of very cute photos of a very good model (Serenity, not Rowdy ).

I hope you enjoy these.

Jim, these are really fun. They have a scrapbook look that is really nice. I like to use some drop shadows on the ovals to help separate and add depth. I like your choice of background paper with your background.

I love making the books. I am trying different companies but have not settled on one. Do you have one you like.

As far as the collages are concerned, I adore doing them and my biggest problem is I do not write down each step. It is difficult to have fun playing and break the play with writing things down. So if anyone has questions about areas we have worked on within these collages, I am sure Jim, Julie or any of us would be glad to answer.

PeggySue,
I use White House Custom Color www.whcc.com and they do a wonderful job. We always design a custom hard cover and it makes a great coffee table piece. Here's the cover for the Serenity Book.

We also do UV coating on the pages so they hold up (especially important for wedding albums) and hinged pages so you can see the entire collage without pieces of it falling into the fold.

This is a $60 book and I think it makes a great gift/product. Thanks for your comments.

Jim
