Have either of you ever taken one of these through airport security? I would think it would draw a little attention.

I haven't taken it through airport security. I doubt it would cause any problems as you are allowed to transport firearms in checked baggage. You just declare it at the ticket counter unloaded and it is standard operating procedure from there. Anybody that can't tell this isn't a firearm is more scary to me than somebody with a firearm.

These are some excellent shots of the Big Horn. Earlier this year I had a chance to photo shoot a small herd and my 300mm wasn't nearly enough.

I just had a mental image of putting this through the metal detector...along with my shoes (which have been described as dangerous). Last time through I got pulled out because the Ziplock bag my shampoo bottle was in was too big.
