I am a Water fall’ic and it’s been 5 days since my last fix! Fortunately for me I have a few prints on display in the office to hold me over until my next trip.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am amazed with over 600 registered users, and so few postings. I figured I would come out of lurking and try to participate. I am into Wildlife and pet photos. I have a few of each:) I am in Pennsylvania, east side, and we don’t really have anything like Yellowstone, Glacier NP or the like. The closest National Park we have is Delaware Water Gap. It is beautiful country here in northern PA, with loads of State Park and State Games land for the exploring. As I eluded to, I am hooked on waterfalls currently. Seems that most recently the only time I go out I am on the prowl for falls. I also love raptors, but it’s easier to sneak up on a waterfall. I will shoot any animal I can though, and need to spend more time on that quest. Old buildings, Flower/Macros, or shots of my pets rounds out the rest of my time. I have yet to attempt to sell anything, and that’s mostly for lack of trying. But I will eagerly listen up on all the post about selling.

Anyone that’s in North East PA or North West NJ, or otherwise wants to hit Hickory Run SP, Delaware Water Gap NP, Lehigh Gorge SP or hike some of the Appalachian Trail, let me know. FWIW, I shoot a Nikon D70.

Thanks, Jeff

hey, welcome to the site and thanks for posting. I like the shot! By chance did you shoot one from those rocks in the forground. I think there's just a bit too much forground, or maybe I just like better the feeling of the water spilling into my lap and or off the edge of the image. Nonetheless, it's a beautiful image, nice capture. Welcome!

Tony,
Thanks for the kind words. I do not have a shot from perched on the rocks in the foreground. But I do have one from a little further back with water spilling out of the frame.

I read a while back that is “adds” to the composition to have something solid in the foreground of water photos. I try to get this sometimes. But now that you mention it, I do seem to have more and more with water only in the foreground and I too like it.

Thanks, Jeff

Welcome, Jeff!

We are a growing community, but you are right. Most people come and read. While I would like to see the forums move more quickly, all comes in time. I recently discussed this with my friend, Jeff, of the Digital Wedding Forum. He tells me that I have too many forums and should condense. I have been hesitant to do this as I like the feel and layout of the forum, but I understand where he is coming from.

Glad to see you came out of lurking.

-James

I read more than I post because I don't always have the time to respond or to post. I will be inbetween seasons in a couple of weeks and will have lots more time to post here. Next week is my job from Hell, the 2006 Arctic Winter Games and then the Regional Basketball Tournaments. 7 straight days of photographing 10-12 hours per day with hardly any breaks.

Thanks for the welcome James. I know what he means. There are times when it's difficult to decide where to post things. But like you say, with time it will come.

David, that sounds like one hell of a job!

Thanks, Jeff
