How about wildflowers. Anyone into "Macro" work. Here are a few Pennsylvania wild flowers that I took last year. Watch where you steep this spring you may hit one of these.

Adders tongue, also Erythronium americanum, Dog's tooth violet, or Fawn Lilly

Wild Violet

Red Colimbine

Dianthus deltoides

An orange Weed, also Anagallis arvensis (scarlet pimpernel)

Any critiques welcomed.

Thanks, Jeff

Gorgeous work, Jeff! Superb DOF and exposure for the crisp florals against the dark, softly blurred backgrounds.

Best regards,

Dick:)

Thanks Dick! My Coolpix 995 got me into Macro work like this and my Tamron 90 rekindled the ambition.

Looking forward to spring.

Thanks, Jeff

Hey Jeff,

I think you are having on-going issues with your server. I am seeing none of the work you posted.

Hey James, Yes, PBase is very frustrating. I have to buy my own server space and get away from PBase. I think they have way to many users and there H/W keeps dropping. I see the photos now, but you just never know whey they are going to crap out.

Any recommendations for a reliable provider would be appreciated. I just need space, 500mb or so. 300 email accounts in of no benefit to me:)

Sorry,

Thanks, Jeff

I have used A Plus for my web server for years. I get 12000MB of web space for $9.95/month. A Plus Their plans start at $5.95/month. They use redundant Unix servers and have never gone down since I have been with them.

Thank you I will definitely check them out. I am sick of the outages and lack of control. Although my current plan is $23 a year, it's not bad I suppose. I will look into them, I think they were recommended before, and that’s what I need reliability.

Thanks, Jeff

Hey Jeff,

23 dollars per year is pretty affordable. They are definitely giving you a case of 'you get what you pay for.' However, just becasue sometimes your photos do not show are not necessarilly a reason to jump ship. It is just that you suffer at their mercy.

I had been using Aplus net for ages and liked them alot. I jumped to ValueWeb for this server and I like the service a lot, though it is much more expensive (I needed the thru-put).

I agree James, and kick myself for setting up on the cheapest option. I never thought downtime would be such an issue. The cheapest APlus option is, aside from the disk space, a boat load more then I need. And at 3 times the cost, I flinch. But, it is really fairly cheap and I should make the switch. Like you say, one problem is hardly enough to make me switch, but there are a few others combined to make me to frustrated.

Thanks guys, for the APlus recommendations.

Thanks, Jeff
