While I'm not ready to compete with Jim and David Ramey in the dog performance events, I did want to share some pictures I took a few years ago of one of the puppies we bred. Jag (Annihaus Canine Mutiny NJP) was the only boy out of 8 puppies in Annie's last litter. As was befitting the only boy in the litter, he was the first born, the girls having conspired to push him down the chute and let them know if it was safe to follow.

Jag is owned by Juneau's owners -- Maisie and Ron Braswell -- and he has been running Agility since he was 3. While he doesn't have a lot of AKC titles for his efforts, Jag enjoys Agility like no other dog I've seen. And he's incredibly creative often creating his own course if the one laid out by the judge didn't suit his own particular desires on a given day . Here's a shot of Jag finishing an indoor course with his typical vim and vigor.

A few years ago, we set up a shoot at Jag's home to get some photos to use in an ad for The Rottweiler Magazine. Some were beauty shots:

But what we were really after were some action shots from different points of view. Like a side-view of him jumping.

But my favorite planned shot was to get behind the jump, on my belly, and capture Jag as he was coming over toward me.

That expression says it all!!! When he landed, he ran over to me, laid down on top of me and washed my face for about 10 minutes. I was laughing so hard I thought he'd drown me. So, now I know why they don't allow photographers to get that close to the action .

Enjoy,

Jim

Great series! I really like the last one. I'd love to do some set-ups like that someday.

That's a happy boy for sure.

I live to see a look like the one on Jag's face in the last image! Great shots!
