Hey Tony,

Those are awesome shots. I particularly find the first appealing (though my sib, sitting next to me states that she finds the second one more appealing). I like the really wild look in it's eyes.

On another note, how did you embed your photographs the way that you do?

James

Thanks for the compliments. That first shot really says it all!!!!!! I feel for that poor little guy as he was just trucking up the mountain without a care in the world and then he looked up and saw me sitting there with a huge lens pointed at him and that was his expression, it was a "priceless" moment for sure. He did not spook-out but did change his path!

Watermark directions:

open photo
select text tool
choose text style
type: 0169, while holding down the Alt. key (on a full sized keyboard, wont work on laptop) - this gives you the copywrite symbol.
get select tool,
click on sumbol,
drag to position and resize,
click on symbol again with select tool,
go to styles and effects and double click on the "clear-imbos" action and the "c" will change to reflect the background colors.
select the layer and adjust the opacity to your taste - I usually end up some where arround 20%

save for the web
lightly sharpen after it's save for the web - 800x640 at about 100 ppi, or the med., setting - it usually makes a 40-90 kb image.

Do the same for your name and date but use any embossing tool or color you like. . .

Hey Tony,

Thanks for the instructions. I may try it this evening...your file sizes are also smaller than mine (something I wish to emulate). My goal is smaller than 80k for a posting, but often times the shots have been coming out to about 120k.

You sure got their attention!!! Both are outstanding shots of the 'kids' and each has it's own appeal. The first gives a better closeup of expression while the posture of the second adds to the startled look.

Fine work, Tony!

Best regards,

Dick:)

These shots are amazing Tony. Like Dick said, their expressions are very cool. Almost like the head tilt of a dog, very curious.

Nice.

Thanks, Jeff

Thanks for the kind words. I have to get back to that location before the goats head back to the "high-country," In the spring they come off the high wind blow mountains to lick minerals and graze on the new, suckulent sprounts. They dont stay long.

It's still cold and snowy here in Glacier Park. I love it.

Thanks again for you kind words.

I have never seen a goat in the wild. It looks awesome. I think now that I HAVE to.

We only saw mountain sheep for the first time last year... We saw them in March in the Elk Refuge. To watch them performing death defying tricks on the sides of mountains is a privledge.

Logan Pass, Glacier National Park, July, August you can have at em, they usually are near, if not on the road!

They actually are very small, even the big males are very much smaller than you would think.

You have to be cairful when planing to photograph goats, because when all that hair sheds it comes off in clumps and they then look like they have some kind of skin problem. If you get them in late august, or so, they will be shed out and have a nice short summer coat. By mid to late september they're getting coats again. Before April they have heavy thick coats, but often they are dirty and yellow... . .

Gook luck, if youre ever out here I'll do my best to find a few for you to photograph. . .
