Eagle = Miserable Morning

Lots of days I think it would be a good day to be a eagle and fly around looking at the scenery while the warm sun kept me comfortable. This was not one of them days. Minus 9 degrees F and thick fog.

You are correct about No. 5. Poor critter looks miserable. I'd be hard pressed to be out and about in those cold temps. I've never been anywhere that cold before.

Having grown up in Iowa, I can relate to that misery. So this is a dumb question. Do you know that this is a male? Do the female eagles have the same white head? Do males make nests? Seems like one would sure come in handy to hunker down and hold in the body heat.

Yes the males and females look alike. The male is smaller than the female. The pair will have a nest in the area.
