Maybe a little off topic... Here is a link to an Eagle cam. The nest has maybe 3 eggs that should be hatching within a week. Enjoy: http://www.wvec.com/marketplace/microsite-content/eagle-cam.html

Hey Preston,

Thanks for sharing this. We had something like this in the park near my home here in Manhattan a few years ago. Every four or so years, the Parks Dept has been releasing eagles in the park. Of course, they grow big enough to fly and move to New Jersey. Having said that, the hope is that as they mature, that they will come back here to mate in the City.

You know I'm sure there is an explanation for the birds "moving to Jersey". It gave me a chuckle without really knowing why...

LOL - yes, they are all looking for an eyry with a picket fence...and of course, obscene property taxes. Uh oh, I am starting to sound like David Patterson (google David Patterson and New Jersey - its tasteless but really funny)...

I've heard they circle over Rutts Hut looking for Rippers.

I'll have to check that out James. I just took a look at the webcam, very cool! There is a bird sitting there right now and seems slightly agitated, open-mouth breathing. Is that common for them?

That is probably the Dad and he is panting because it is so warm today. The Mom and Dad are getting very active and agitated and are 'rolling' the eggs every hour. They are due to hatch any time now.

I joined their facebook page, the first baby popped out today! Just checked the webcam and of course it is night and they have a teeny IR camera on the next but can't really see anything of course.
