I don't think this has been posted here yet, its getting lots of attention here in SoCal. This retired couple has lots of bird boxes, they put up an owl box 2 yrs ago and they finally have a nesting pair. Eggs are due to hatch any day.

The first owlet hatched this morning! Have work to do and errands to run and I've been hooked on this for the last hour or two. At least got to see the first baby though.

For those of you that haven't checked in on this for awhile, the babies are now *huge*! They had to put an advisory on the website cause people were getting upset about the owls eating their prey. They have added an outside camera to catch the owls coming and going, sitting on the outside of the box but I've not caught any of that yet.

LOL, go figure that we don't want to see them eat. Maybe there is a soy compote we can look at as an alternative. :P
