Badger - My First

The 1st time I found a Badger when I had a camera with me. He is in a big field above 10,000 ft elevation on 3 to 4 foot of snow. I really like their attitude, they are not afraid of anything and when they look at you its like "you want part of me, bring it on". Years ago way up high in the West Elk Wilderness I had one win the stare down with me and I stepped off the trail and he walked on by and never even looked at me.

The Badger Story

I was on a game train going downhill to a beaver pond to look for elk track, when I met up with a Badger coming up the trail. We both stopped and looked at each other. I raised my hands and yelled at him get out of my way. He spread his front legs and puffed out his chest and let me know if someone was going to step aside it would not be him. He let out a hissing sound and glared at me. I smiled and stepped aside and he walked on by and never even looked at me.

Hey Roger,

You are a lucky dog. I have never seen a badger in the wild. Nicely done.

James

Very nice capture. I rarely ever seem to encounter them.
