Was going through my old computer and found a bunch of old shots from last years tulip festival. All taken with the D2H (was just purchased it then. I love spring....have a few from this year, but not finished shooting as the blooms are not full yet...betting on next weekend, and have permission from the owners to come in at daybreak. So look for another post in abuout a week.

Hope you like them all!!!

How could we not like them. I have always liked shots like this. I’ve yet to come across the opportunity to shoot in such a situation. I love the way they managed to get all the color out just in time for the holiday.
Do Cows like Tulips??
I love the “full” field shots but the close ups are great! I like “Trying to Blend In” but “Flowers Whispering” is my favorite.
Great Work,

Thanks, Jeff

Lovely shots Roman. I've been hanging for your tulip shots since you said you were getting up at some ungodly hour to go to the tulip fields. This lot will be difficult to beat, do you have a plan or just see what the day brings? Anyway, look forward to some further tulips in a week or so.

We have a major tulip farm close by, of course being on the other side of the earth, our's won't be ready til about October: (we are just into Autumn/Fall at the moment). The owners of the tulip farms are very close about who photographs them and for what reason: it is almost like getting each tulip to have its own Model Release.

Couldn't pick a favourite from yours, they are so good. The tractor is great, I'd like to see it with more of the foreground in focus: but would probably end up preferring the shot as it is. Noticed the "Wooden Shoe" name: most of the Australian tulip and other bulb farms are owned or run by Dutch immigrants or their fourth-generation descendants. Sounds like Oregon could be the same with the expertise.

Jeff - Thank you!! Do cows like tulips....probably not, compressed the tulip fields and the flowers (2 seperate areas seperated by a road) into one by crouching down, and using my 400MM lens.

PC - Thanks! My plan is as always...to arrive...see what presents itself...and to be open to that. Dewitt Jones speaks of the next "best oppertunity"...meaning staying open to each situation by keeping your expectations open enough to keep looking for the beauty even when you think you have captured it already.

Tulip Farmers here want more people to see their stock....so cooperate well with photographers...all they ask is I identify them as the source.

Jim - Thanks....and you will see them....already have some...but will wait till I finish my tulip season next week.

These are beautiful Roman. They could easily be posters.
