Great shot Jim! How do the dogs and handlers like running on the artificial turf? Any paw burns from friction?

I think that's largely a question of preference and what kind of turf. There is one facility that hosts a lot of trials in the area, but the turf is bad and very slippery. A lot of folks refuse to trial there now.

I hear a good bit about blown pads, but that's usually outdoors.

Depends on the quality of the turf to start with as well as the age and amount of wear on it. The turf in this photo is wonderful, the turn in the place I'll be Friday is almost like pool-table felt - very bad.
