Going to the zoo is one of my favorite things to do. Since I got my Nikon I love going even more. Here are some shots from our last trip to Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia SC. I wasn't sure how many pics are allowed in one post..I hope I didn't over-do it TFL!
Katie, there are folks who have some biases against zoos but some of my most memorable images came from a shoot at Disney's Animal Kingdom. These are lovely. Where else can you capture so many wonderful animals in images that will last forever -- or however long Wilhelm's Research says they'll last . Thanks for sharing.
I don't see anything wrong with shots taken at the zoo, as long as, they are identified as such, which is what you clearly did. I've seen some mighty nice animal portraits taken at the zoo.
These are very nice. I like the flamingo shots the best.
I definitely felt the most intrigued with the flamingos..the camera loves them. My fiance had to pull me away after I lingered there waiting for them to do stuff for about 30 minutes lol
Agreed - I have no problems with zoos - outside of the fact that I see them as depressing. It upsets me that they are necessary - but they definitely are. I have absolutely no problems with taking photos at zoos so long as they are identified as such (like Jim).
