Hey guys,

My wife, Cathy, and I shoot together and sometimes share a project to get differing perspectives and give us more opportunities to please the client. I wanted to share a photo she took last week while on a trip to the zoo.

This is a Lory. I was blown away at the flurry of color.

Doug,
I agree, this is a great shot and the colors are really intense. Did you do anything to accentuate them or are they really that saturated?

Jim,

I went back to Lightroom to see what Cathy did. She did bump up the clarity to about 52% and that was all. I took it back to zero to see what it looked like there, it was surprisingly vibrant.

I tend to bump up both clarity and vibrance a bit in Camera Raw when I process my landscape/macro images and some of my wildlife. It sharpens and accentuates the colors without over-saturating. Nice image!

Its a great shot. Beautiful bird. Great focus and clarity.

Get the right backdrop, right bokeh, a prize winner. Just a thought
hope you don't mind...

Thanks for all the kind words everybody. I know Cathy will appreciate it when I show her. Marty, Of course I don't mind. CC is why I am here, (and of course the good company).

Great colors, great DOF, great focus (on the eye), overall great capture.
But...I feel the crop is too tight on the left of the frame. It seems like the bird is going to run into a wall there.
