Hello all,

I haven't been here in a number of years but some of the names here look familiar. My old user name has become inaccessible so here is my new one!

What I wanted to ask if anyone has some magic tips about is how do you keep all that flying fur under control? Yes I am careful to groom and quickly brush most animals before I shoot them but I still find myself spending a lot of time retouching photos to remove stray fur (lint) from the photos.

Some of the animals shed from nervousness and I depending on the weather, I may have a lot of static I'm dealing with too. I can't use anti-static guard because of the toxic fumes from that.

So does anyone have any ideas or is there nothing better than just having the assistant run around constantly with a lint roller in one hand while wrangling the animal with the other? Or is that just the only way to do it?

Many thanks,
WSR

Hey Patricia,

The bottom line is yes - I still have someone helping with the drops (usually Chanthee, but perhaps in the future one of my newphews). frown Having said that, I am now using this blue round sponge like product that I picked up at target for 9 bucks. It is awesome at pulling off hair - better than any other product I have used prior. The other item that we use is a rubber glove (like a dish glove). Rubbing in a circular motion really seems to help with pulling out embedded fibers.

James

I use lint rollers all during the shoot.

Thanks James and Preston. Just wanting to make sure I'm not missing out on some great new technology for this.

Ah well, so tape remains the greatest invention still for the fur. I have tried gloves, spongy things, rubber, but nothing does seem to catch that stuff like a lint roller.

Shucks! Thanks much though.
