Today we celebrate the Second Birthday of our young boy, Scampy (Annihaus RJM Scampi Fra Diavolo). Scampy is out of the last litter we bred two years ago -- which may end up being the last litter we breed. We are of an age where the amount of work to raise a litter of puppies is just 8 weeks of really hard work interspersed with 8 weeks of joyous puppy love. We're simply not sure we'll breed again. But, we'll see . . .

In the meantime, here's a picture I took of the Birthday Boy on Monday. He's growing up to be a very handsome guy. Tomorrow, we head off to our show vet to get his OFA exams done: hips, elbows, heart and eyes. Wish us luck. In a few weeks, he'll head off to Michigan to spend some time with our favorite handler and try to finish his AKC Championship. So, here's Scampy at 2 years old.

Thanks James. Scampy is not a big boy weighing in at a svelte, lithe and sinewy 105 lbs. but he's in excellent condition due to his daily runs in the yard with his "training partner" Moxie (CH Annihaus Blue Suede Moccasins). Here's a shot of the two of them tearing across the back 40 to see which will be the first to lead the chase around the Kumquat trees grin.

His OFA Xrays look really good and his cardio exam shows Heart Clear so we're pretty happy about both his soundness and how he's looking these days. He'll continue to mature -- our line matures slowly. His daddy, Max, didn't show until he was 6 years old and he finished his Championship in 5 weekends. Here is a picture of Scampy's daddy, Max (CH Beachwalker Rowdy To The Max). Let's hope that Scampy can move like this in the ring.

More updates as Scampy starts his show career.
