Those are tampons in her ears. Which is kinda funny to me.

My umbrellas are a shiny white. I will have to get some silver ones too

I knew you like that puppy. Even I, a dog show idiot, could tell how nice she was.

I need more backgrounds. I am really liking a grey I saw recently.

Julie,
I know you say that both lights are firing but I'm only seeing one highlight in the eyes. Where are the lights set up in relation to the dogs?

I would say they are set up at 7 and 4 o'clock. Or thereabouts. I am pretty sure the one where the dobie is standing has the one catchlight hidden, due to the way she is turning her head

If not, I think she would be much darker on that side, as I had the lights turned pretty far up.

Oh, and my cheapo fleabay radio trigger works GREAT!

Julie,
I've been using the Morris radio trigger for over a year and so far, it's been bullet-proof. One transmitter and two receivers keeps the lights from being triggered by those owners with their own digital cameras and camera phones.

I didn't see two catchlights in any of the dogs but maybe that's my eyes. As long as you know that they're firing. . .

Sounds like you have them sit up correctly. I'm still a bit puzzled by the lack of fill under the chin, however. Maybe you have them set TOO high. Try dropping them down to just over head height.

Keep practicing. Vary the light from one of the strobes to see what kind of effect it produces. Have some fun with these things!!!!

I will lower them as they are up quite a bit over the dogs. That would probably help with shadows too

I have a lot of experimenting to do. The month of August is just nuts for me. SIL's wedding was last weekend, out of town, the kids started school last week and the rest of the weekends of the month are horse shows. HOT horse shows
