I had the pleasure to shoot 4 Golden Retriever puppies today. Tomorrow they are each going to new homes.

I must say. Puppies in the morning will definitely make the rest of your day, wonderful.

Hey Rob,

These are all quite nice. You did a great job with the light - particularly on the first one where you are dealing with the highlights. Can you tell us a bit of technical information about how you took these?

James

Nice ones, Rob! I especially like the ones looking up, and the b&w conversions are great.

I shot with both a Nikon D2X and D200. The 2 vertical shots are from the D200 and the other 2 are from the D2X. I used 2 different lenses, a Sigma 30mm f1.4 and a Nikon 10.5mm f2.8 fisheye.

The lighting was mostly shade and I shot on Aperture Priority with a mix of matrix and center weighted metering modes. I routintly checked the histrogram and adjusted exposure comp. as needed to not blow the highlights in the fur.

All images were shot RAW and post processed using Aperture.

Hey Rob,

Thanks for the info. Only on a couple of the shots do I see any fish-eye effect. How are you liking the 30 F1.4? It seems like a great portrait lens. Looking at your shots that you posted, I would have thought that you were using a wider angle rectilinear lens.

Thanks!
James
