How many litters have you whelped? Forgive my ignorance, but was this planned, or had you rescued her recently? I do want to check all previous threads, and being "done" with our family travel for now, will help! Congrats?!?

Cinnamon is an ex show dog and is not even owned by me. She has lived with me for 2 years and if you asked her, she would say with no qualms, She is my dog. Legally, she is her original breeder's and my friend's. She was the pick of the litter and given to my friend for her daughter to show. She didn't enjoy the ring AT ALL so she came to live with me and be a pet. My friend, by contract, has to give a puppy back to her original breeder. So, this litter was carefully planned and the dog chosen to suit her. We are going for dual purpose whippets that will show and lure course. Also, temperament is the first consideration and the health the second. Cinnamon has been through a battery of health exams(eyes, ears, thyroid, heart) before breeding to show she is genetically sound and will not pass on such defects to her offspring Here is her announcement page on my friend's website Whippet planned breeding announcement

Well then, a hearty congrats! I'm guessing a Halloween themed litter?
My one bitch Dice, was from the "heart" litter, and so, her registered name is... (ya ready?) Jema Perennial's Bleedn'Heart..aka Dice, and that is her call name short for, "Dicentra Formosa", which is the biological? name for Bleed n' hearts! Hopefully this shot of her will come up...sorry if I hijacked this, I didn't post alot on the DWF, so, bear with me!

I feel so bad for her. The REAL growth happens from this point out. How scary is that? At least you know how many to expect! Our first litter, I knew there were at least 9(pretty sure actually), and had I not known, I would have gone to bed after #7, there was over an hour of wait,(no hard labor) and then the other two came along. 7, btw, was the largest of the litter. He was born outside, as I was playing all the tricks to stir the momentum back...walk..etc..so, just remember, you do that? Bring a towel!
