Hi. I've been a member of the community for a couple of months but have just been lurking in the bushes trying to learn from the rest of you. I'm now ready to post my first image for your C&C. I took this on Oct 12, when we had our first snowfall in SE Michigan. It's my last rose of 2006. Taken with a Canon 30D, 70-200MM lens, 70mm, ISO800, 1/3200 sec, f4.0. I know what you're thinking, why ISO 800 in a snowstorm??? It's a perfect example of grabbing your camera and not checking the settings from the last time you used it.

Nice shot, I like it a lot. And it is kind of sad, the beginning of the end, of plant life anyway:)

I know exactly what you mean about leaving the ISO up, we have all done it, and some of us to many times! I wish there was more info in the viewfinder, but then again I always wish it had a bigger and brighter image too:)

Thanks Jeff, it's nice to know I'm not alone in forgetting to check the ISO before pushing the shutter button. I know I and I'm sure many others would like to have that information available in our Canon viewfinders.
