This is one of a series of shots that I took while on our last trip (what seemed so long ago, and LOL, I am only processing now). I am trying to get myself out of the mindset that everything needs to be shown as 8x10 or 8x12. Anyone, thoughts/feedback is always appreciated.

Wow,
James, I think this image is the best I have seen of the work you have posted. Truly a lovely photograph.
Thanks for posting in the Critique section.

Hi Peggy Sue,

Thank you very much for the praise. Oddly, I was hesitant to post this as I was not sure it would cut it.

What makes you hesitant about this image? With this being the critque section, how about a self critique. We are often our best critics.

Hey PeggySue,

LOL, everything I post in the Critiques section makes me hesitant. Having said that, the two things I was worried about with this image was: (1) Not enough shadow and midtone brightness, (2) I was not sure if the image was vivid enough.

This is another shot of the Tetons from the same time. As I said earlier, I am still playing with different crops of it - but I generally like this shot as well.

Cheers
James

James I like them both, especially the second one. It may be my monitor but they both still seem washed out. I think it must be a monitor thing since there is definitely a pattern. Keep posting I am learning a lot from seeing your work.

james - do you do any re-touching before you post? i pulled them up & in very short order, can pretty much make them sing. not sure yet about re-posting edited versions of other people's work here yet (i just joined)so i'll hold off until i figure that out or see it here.

Hey JP,

I think that most folks don't mind a little re-touching here (definitely not in the Critique's section). I certainly would not mind a bit of re-touching if you want to take a stab at it.

In short, sing away. Curiously - what is it that is lacking in the image? Do not be afraid to pull punches...that is why it got posted here. Landscapes are probably my weakest point photographically and positive criticism is helpful.
