I am SO excited that I found this site/forum! I am in the process of starting a pet photography business and am spending as much time as possible reading, web surfing/searching and researching as much as I can on the subject. My lack of "technical" photography knowledge is going to be my biggest hindrance/learning curve, as I am trying to learn about ISO, WB and aperature settings,etc.

Hi, there sure are a lot of new faces here lately that's great! Your web site and photos are really nice. You will learn a lot here. What equipment are you using?

Thank you Dee Dee. I am using a Nikon D70 with the Nikkor 18-70mm "kit" lens that came with it. Although the photos of "daycare dogs" as well as the flower pictures on my website were taken with a point and shoot Fuji Finepix 602Z. I've had the Nikon for two years now, and am just now starting to experiment away from "Auto" settings! It's a bit overwhelming, but great fun!

I remember how scary it was to go from auto to manual. Now I can't imagine using auto. You did really well for just a point and shoot!! You obviously have a good eye.

I've just recently joined as well, and everyone is very friendly and helpful. I am in the process of expanding my pet portrait business (art) to include pet photography as well. LOL its so much more than just taking a good photo, but the learning curve is fun:)

You have some really lovely photos on your website, I am sure you will do well with your new business.
