I shot this mallard the same day as the wood duck, wish it was all in the frame , but you don't have much time at 300mm and 1.4 tele one must be guick and ready. Thanks for viewing and all c&c Randall

yes, i like that.

by static, my comment in the other post, I do mean lack of energy. Just my personal preference. It's the difference between a photograph of a deer standing still and a deer standing still that just saw something move. It's capturing the attention of the animal and translating that attention to the viewer through the photo. . . By that I dont neccessarily mean get the attention, or draw attention, but captuer the animals attention or its emotion, or it's expression. Very hard to do with ducks however, so you have to use real motion, or blur, or snap just the right angle or just the exact time. . .

I agree. I like the shot as well. The colors are so rich and saturated. Do you have others of a series of these? The one thing I might like to see is more of the wings and body - though I also like close-ups as well.

Thats the best shots of the ducks recently taken, but here's one you might consider as expressive, of course the squirrels are a little more common, and easier to capture but their still fun, and sometimes funny. lol
