I took this photo with my Canon Rebel T2 EOS. 28-90mm zoom lens. I also didn't go far for the shot just off my front steps. He was sunning on my welcome stone.

Trudey,

Pretty good sized fella here. I'm pretty sure this is a Garter snake although maybe you call them grass snakes in New York. Grass Snakes proper are European.

I'm wondering how you got this digitized. The reason is that this pic looks a little overexposed and the green colors in the grass are pretty bleached. I also know the T2 is pretty sharp and this is pretty soft. I suspect the problems may be in the conversion to digital.

Certainly must have been neat to catch this guy sun bathing.

Geo

Geo,
This is all new to me... I scanned the picture onto my computer from the original with my canon scanner. It was also a hazy kind of day but very warm. Could this have had something to do with the colors? You are right about the T2 being very sharp.. love the camera. I am truley a black and white girl but have just recently been playing with color which I am noticing is much different in techniques.. I really would appreciate any feedback.. so thanks again,
Trudey
