About that gateway...ACER just bought them out. In my book ACER is a four letter word...(if you catch my drift) They have about the cheapest parts you can get....usually break down and cause more headachs than they are worth. Before the buyout.....I would have given Gateway a stronger endorsment. It is why our IT department dropped them and went back to Dell. Also if you look at the PC your dealing with a built in video chip on the mainboard and shared memory. Absolute mayhem. If you can afford the Dell T3400, it starts about 900.00. I just speced yours out with the 400.00 worth of memory and the $450.00 monitor....and a few other goodies. Just go to the site and pick out your own specs that meet your budget.
I have a dell and an older Gateway monitor (before they were bought out by Acer) and I am highly impressed. The Dell Monitor I speced is one of Dells best and gets very high review marks....and only bested by the high end dedicated uber expensive monitors.
I just put a Dell 24" monitor at my desk at work today, will calibrate it tomorrow, but it is quite nice.
