Hi Roman!

I thought you might recognize it. Yes, it is about half way up Sabino Canyon, near the fourth bridge. I was pretty surprised to find any standing water at all.

I don't know if they had closed the road to vehicle traffic yet when you were here, but for quite a few years now, the only way to the top of the canyon is to either hike, bike, or take an $8.00 tram ride. Same with the adjacent road up Bear Canyon, except that tram is only $4.00

A couple of years ago huge rock slides caused by heavy rains on Mount Lemmon wiped out huge sections of roads, buried most of the picnic areas, and severely limited access beyond the first bridge. When the National Forrest Service couldn't come up with enough money to repair the damage & restore access, locals raised over a half million dollars to subsidize the project.

Petra and I went up the day after they reopened it a few weeks ago. I'm looking forward to going back when snow melt in the Catalinas makes the creek flow again.

Jim
