The BH-40 is not a big enough head for the lenses that I am going to buy. I am looking at the RRS BH55, Kirk BH-1, Markins 20 or the AS B-1. All are great ball heads that will handle the same amount of weight. Wow...must be scientific lenses?!?...maybe telescopes???....the 40 has a load capacity of 18 pounds.

Not to mention my advice was for James....you seem to be responding as if I were directing my response at you.

James was looking for a less expensive alternitive to 5-600 dollar ballheads.
