It has sort of become an informal challenge to put something up from the week that we have been working on. This week I am going over shots from the confirmation show I went to just to shoot this weekend. I try to get different shots but this time I fell short of my personal challenge. I want to catch dogs being dogs and not show dogs. Unfortunately at shows these days, when you arrive with the equipment we love, people immediately start stacking, primping and trying to give you shots that look like all the others I already have.
I wish I could use the lens that I have for my film camera that has mirrors that when you are looking one way, you really are shooting at a 90 degree angle. Great for candids!
This is one shot I have and I fell in love with this boy, BUT..... brings up a point on what appeals to us. I admit I have a hard time with bi eyed dogs. Not sure if I would pick that by choice for me. As a judge I would not let it affect me but when do those personal choices affect what we shoot? I found that in order to use this dog in my art, I changed the brown eye to blue. (think that was a country western song!)
