It has sort of become an informal challenge to put something up from the week that we have been working on. This week I am going over shots from the confirmation show I went to just to shoot this weekend. I try to get different shots but this time I fell short of my personal challenge. I want to catch dogs being dogs and not show dogs. Unfortunately at shows these days, when you arrive with the equipment we love, people immediately start stacking, primping and trying to give you shots that look like all the others I already have.

I wish I could use the lens that I have for my film camera that has mirrors that when you are looking one way, you really are shooting at a 90 degree angle. Great for candids!

This is one shot I have and I fell in love with this boy, BUT..... brings up a point on what appeals to us. I admit I have a hard time with bi eyed dogs. Not sure if I would pick that by choice for me. As a judge I would not let it affect me but when do those personal choices affect what we shoot? I found that in order to use this dog in my art, I changed the brown eye to blue. (think that was a country western song!)

Very nice Peggy Sue

Does this count?

Just kidding. This was actually a shoot I did for a local paper of our police officers shooting their annual qualifiers. It was a "Blast"

Ha, that is funny. I do use the word shoot often. In fact I am giving a talk at my obedience dog club titled "so you want to shoot your dog!"

Missing pigment is a big thing to me. Dot is missing a tiny corner in her eye and it drives me nuts. It ruins the look of her very pretty and correct head.

For my personal use, like business cards, I burn it in. I do not for ads and the like, but, I will pose her so it is her off side. Of *course* it has to be the show side!

LOL, Julie...I think it sort of counts! I am still slogging through everything non-pet and non-portrait related at this moment, and sadly I have NOTHING!

Dottie won her second major yesterday. Even missing the tiny bit of pigment I have one photo I love of her gaiting, even though I missed the focus. Oh well, it is my photo of my dog
