Hi, nice shots. I like the feeling of the first one and the lighting of the second. Not sure if you want a critique or are just posting to share. ???

Julie, Cute as always. Your girl is very cute, and on top of that she has a great rapport with your horse which you capture in these shots.

Thanks, Jeff

If I post anything, I definitely want honest feedback on it. I am posting to share also, but am very open to feedback

I think you did great with the composition and the light, as hard as it was. I really like the feeling of the first shot. I believe that the shots need tighter crops - no surprise. I think there is too much out of focuse grass in the first shot. and the second, has too much extra space around the subject. both leave me wondering a bit. that said, they really are nice shots! They could be printed just as they are, but I just like to make sure the viewer is focused only on MY subject and not left to stray. . .

Nice shots! I think youve done a great job the little girl will be happy to have them in the years to come.

and the other shot. . . I think this shot needs a little color correction in the face, it a bit too red. . . Again, nice job, i like the intimacy. . .

Hey Julie,

Love the shots. I think the first one is better because the light is more subdued. Have you considered using a light touch of reflected light into the child's face?

Thanks everyone. I think the second one is a bit too cool also. Trying to color correct tended to make the background a touch hot and distracting. I had really brought up the midtones in that shot, which I think affected the color.

I would have loved to have used a reflector, but, I didn't have the co-ordination! I do think it would have helped and one day, I will get my husband out there to help me. I had a very short time to get photos as the mare should not be having any grass. She is badly foundered(recently) and is off all sugars and starches. So, she had 5 minutes of horsey heaven and then back to her stall

nice job. I think it's almost impossible to pose a horse, a child and get the reflectors in place, or figured out without loosing the moment anyhow. All in all, I think they are great shots. . .
