Richard....thanks...and yes I did use every lens in my bag....(which of course was the point of testing)
And while I like the results...I know I have a lot to learn on this camera.....I also find (against the grain of common posts in jut about any forum) that this camera is more forgiving than most people think....now mind you it will show you any misgivings in your glass...but this is actually an easy cam to use.....just pop her into manual...watch the histogram....the nice thing is the meter is VERY consistant...im quite pleased.
James....I find a HUGE diffrence between my D70 and the D2X.....absolutly mind boggling....This is the detail I have been craving. I am a computer tech by trade and was building a new system anway....and just finished building it this weekend. AMD 64 Dualcore 4200 with 3 Gigs of ram and SATA drives(including one dedicated super fast raptor drive for my photoshop scratch disk) I am gonna get two more 300Gig SATA drives (already have one) which will put me over a terrabite internal....and I have two external 160 gig USB drives for photo backup of all my processed keepers.....so system wise....no upgrades needed....but if it was my old system (i ran some shots through it...AMD 2600 Barton with 2 gigs of ram) would have been ok...but its like night and day with the new system....I am truly amazed. If I had not already started to build a system....I would have after dealing with the size.
People keep saying that the D2X is unforgiving....I really dont see it. Sure...if you are reckless or don't think things through.....it can let you know....but I actually found it easier than my D70 to use. (actually I think the D70 pushed me harder than the D2X does...but I also think that exact fact prepared me to work better with the D2X.
